Joe Jonas is Trying to Be Cool Now

First there was Justin Timberlake, and now Joe Jonas is attempting to make the transition from Disney mouseketeer to pop idol with a dose street cred. The Jonas Brothers heartthrob, whose first solo album Fastlife drops on Tuesday, recruited the help of Chris Brown and Lil Wayne, and even named his first single "Just In Love" (get it?) in a presumed homage to his inspiration. But the most the oldest Jonas has been able to get from critics is a solid "meh," putting him nowhere close to the electro-pop fireball Timberlake ignited when he debuted Justified. You can drop all the F-bombs you want in your quest to be edgy, Joe, but you're missing one key ingredient: Timbaland. And we're not talking about the boots.
