Eminem

The D will soon have it’s own film to add to the pantheon of hip hop documentariesThe Untold Story of Detroit Hip-Hop, from director Brian “Champtown” Harmon, chronicles the evolution of Detroit’s post-Motown music evolution. It will be narrated by Chuck D, and feature Eminem, Royce the 5”9, Slum Village, Kid Rock and Insane Clown Posse among others, Harmon told AllHipHop. Fans will be excited to see early, rare footage of Eminem included. Some of it appears in a trailer for the doc. The footage of Em appears despite the well known beef between Harmon and Em. But the director says that’s in the past. “A lot of people think that there is some animosity between Eminem and me, but they would be shocked to know that I was influential in his early life and career,” he said “As a matter of fact, the first real recording studio that Em ever recorded in was with me at Prince’s Paisley Park in 1992 through my connections.
