Idris Elba has earned major praise for his role as Detective John Luther in the BBC show Luther, and those of us on the left side of the pond will have a chance to catch up with the award-winning series now thatLuther 2 is available on DVD. Luther stars Elba, who plays a genius detective consumed by work and struggling with his own demons. This season, he deals with the devastating murder of his wife while working on two crime cases with a new unit. The mini-series spans four episodes, which play out like a pair of feature films. British-born Elba has been honored with an NAACP Image Award for his performance, as well as nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
