Jennifer Lopez is working hard to ensure her collection at Kohl's makes a statement. The line, which includes women’s clothing, accessories and home goods, debuted last month, and the singer-actress is busy working on adding more for the forthcoming season. “For spring, we have a lot of bright colors,” she reveals to PEOPLE. “We started off with the more signature "Jennifer Lopez" palate — soft grays, whites, seafoam greens in the bedding and home collection — then in accessories and apparel, we did the more blush and soft tones, camel and cream. Going forward we’ll start experimenting with more colors. Along with her color palate, Lopez says she focused much of her attention on the fit of her garments. “Getting the fit right is something that takes a lot of time, but it’s something that we can’t compromise. For me, the stuff I pick is the stuff that fits really well.” The line boasts fabulous dresses, fur vests, wide leg trousers, platform heels, thigh high boots and more. Coined “luxurious, beautiful, sexy and affordable” by J. Lo, the collection may eventually expand into kid’s clothing, shared the newly crowned designer who never quite saw a future in fashion. “… I never really thought I wanted to become a fashion designer. That just kind of evolved with my image, my style and the fact that I am creative. Her pieces are chic and won’t destroy your bank account. Nicely done, Jen.
