Lil Wayne Never Heard Watch the Throne, Unsatisfied With Nicki Minaj

Lil Wayne is known for playing with words in his rhymes, but in a new interview with Vibe magazine, he takes a decidedly more direct approach, pulling no punches on subjects ranging from his competition to his views on artists signed to his own Young Money team. Speaking on Jay-Z's and Kanye West's Watch the Throne, an event release that was overshadowed in some ways by Wayne's own Tha Carter IV, Weezy blithely confessed that he simply hadn't bothered to listen to the album. I haven't heard the album. I'll probably never hear the album, he said.  Asked about Nicki Minaj, a Young Money artist who most would say has become a superstar in her own right, Wayne said he was less than satisfied with her professional achievements thus far. I'm not satisfied with anything she's done," he said. "I believe she can do a whole lot more, and I believe she will do a whole lot more. It's not shocking, and it's not surprising. It's quite fitting. But other than that, it's nowhere near the end. As for Drake, Weezy brushed off talk that the rising star could ever be his competition. That's my artist. He's not [just] a friend. We're more than friends. It's business. It would be impossible for it to be a competition. I mean, I'm the guy's boss.
