Lil Wayne to Drop Sequels to 'I Am Not a Human Being' and 'Rebirth'

Lil Wayne
Lightning doesn't strike twice? Whoever said that obviously hasn't met Lil Wayne. Weezy's seminal Tha Carter series is already in its fourth installment; its most recent incarnation moved almost a million its first week. But he isn't finished recapturing old magic: Weezy is apparently recording follow-ups to both 2009's I Am Not a Human Being and 2010's Rebirth. Mack Maine, president of Wayne's Young Money Records, recently talked with MTV News and revealed that Weezy is already working on the sequel to I Am Not a Human Being, and after that a second Rebirth will begin soon as well. He's, like, 12 songs in, and he went crazy, he said, referring to I Am Not a Human Being 2. "He went left. He's in Martian land right now, Mack explained that each of Lil Wayne's album series, including Tha Carter, explore a different side to the Nawlins superstar. "He gets to show his rock side, he gets to show his gangsta side and talk to the women on one side," Mack said of the Rebirth and Carter series, respectively. "On I Am Not a Human Being, he is definitely showing some weirdo, left-brain, I'm-not-from-here-type side. He can say what he wants. There are no boundaries; there are no limits. Mack went on to say that this diversity and versaility is the secret to Wayne's huge crossover success. "He captures all those different audiences, and then at a concert or a show, you bring all those different people together," he explained. "You bring your Rebirth rock people, you bring your Carter people, and you bring your I Am Not a Human Being [crowd], and you have a great show. That's why we sell out arenas every night.
